Individual, Couple and Family Therapy at Hope Community Church Joel Ybarra, M.S., LMFT
Introduction The goal of therapy at Hope Community Church is to aid individuals, couples, and families in finding peace, reconciliation, and hope in themselves and in their relationships. Therapy is available to regular attendees of the church as well as guests and those in the surrounding community. Therapy is available to individuals, couples, and families seeking help with all sorts of presenting issues including but not limited to marital problems, family and parenting issues, spiritual issues, depression, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, grief, loss, stress, and more.
Appointments Free Consultation: The first meeting with your therapist will be a consultation, in which you will meet your therapist and be introduced to what therapy would look like. There is no fee associated with this session and there is no obligation to begin therapy. This session serves simply to introduce you to the therapy process so that you can make an informed decision about entering therapy.
Once the decision to begin therapy is made, the first one or two sessions are used to get to know and feel comfortable with your therapist, explore the reasons for seeking therapy and identify directions for possible change. Typically you, together with your therapist, will set goals toward which you will work for the remainder of the therapy sessions.
Appointments are flexible and will be scheduled directly with your therapist. Regular appointments are scheduled for 50 minutes, commonly referred to as a “clinical hour.” The first one or two sessions, however, may be longer (one-and-a-half hours) to complete a thorough assessment.
Fees Fees for therapy at Hope are on a sliding fee scale typically ranging from $50.00 per session to $90.00 per session based on your income. Reduced fees are available for those who demonstrate financial need. Your fee will be determined at the time of your intake. Fees are typically due at each session and can be paid by cash or check.
