Service Team

How about giving what you can to those who need it most?

The Hope Service Team came into existence a few years ago when a flood destroyed the homes of several families living in Augusta. Men and women from our church cared for these individuals, many of whom did not come to Hope, by taking care of their clothes, moving them out of their flooded houses, and in some instances tearing out the drywall and refinishing the home. We learned quite a bit during that time.

The Service Team brings glory to God by serving others through meeting many physical needs. As a result they have been involved in projects for people who are in need. The Service Team has worked closely with World Impact in building and finishing off homes at World Impact Ranch, and has helped clean and fix up the homes of poor and needy individuals in the Wichita area.

Projects are diverse and on-going. You don't need to be skilled to be involved. In fact, all you have to do is to want to be involved. You can learn a skill by working alongside of a seasoned team member who can train you. Service Team members drive nails, put up drywall, roof homes, fix appliances, wire lighting, clean, replace, and do almost anything to help others.

James 1:27 says, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." The Hope Service Team certainly attempts to do this.
