Home ChurchesMain contacts: Bill Beahm Home Churches are small groups of Hopesters who meet regularly to fellowship, study God’s Word, and pray for each other. Most Home Churches share a dinner. They also sometimes get together for a show or ballgame, do service projects, or just have fun. Simply put, they are “being” the church for each other. Lifelong relationships are created and deepened in home churches. These are truly the New Testament models of a Christian lifestyle. Hope InstituteMain contacts: Bill Beahm One very powerful way to grow deeper in your faith is to attend Hope Institute classes. A range of classes – from theological studies to parenting and marriage studies – are offered at different times during the year. While many of the classes meet on Sunday mornings, some are also offered on weekday evenings. Current Classes: Men’s Morning Bible StudyThursdays, 7:00-8:00 am, Youth Room Bring your Bible and get ready to explore it in a way only men can. You can join in at any time. Main contacts: Mark Gale The Pentateuch: The First Five Books of the Old TestamentWednesday Evenings, 6:30 pm, room A1/A3 This class is a survey of the first five books of the Old Testament using Jim Martin's book, A Visual Guide to Bible Events (book is optional for the class, $25.00). We will examine major events and people to give you an understanding of the content of each book. Taught by Dr. Bill Beahm. Please sign up for the class in the main foyer. For spiritual calisthenics, some guys get together weekly for lunch and shooting the breeze. There are also manly events that involve BBQ, power tools, 4-wheelers and helicopters. Men’s Morning Bible StudyThursdays, 7:00 to 8:00 am, Youth Room Main contacts: Mark Gale Men’s East-Side LunchThursdays, 11:30 am, @ Ryan’s Restaurant, Rock Road and K-96. A great way to meet with and meat with other men of Hope! Main contacts: Mahlon “Mac” McCaleb Men’s Night of PrayerFriday, March 26, 6pm-Midnight This is an awesome time, and NO, we don't spend the entire time on our knees. There's man food to be eaten. A couple manly speakers. Some manly singing and grunting. And yes, we will pray. We usually focus in on some specific things that we want to attack. Like, oh, I don't know... SATAN! If you're a man, and you think you can take it... BE THERE. Directions: Take Andover Road/Butler Road south, through Rose Hill, to 95th St. South (210 Street in Butler Co.), turn west, go 5 1/2 miles, look for gate on your left (south) with totem poles and big sign over gate that says Warrens. Drive south to the back of the property. (It's not really on Webb Road, that's just the address. It's about 1/2 mile east of Webb on 95th S.) They do studies geared for 20- and 30-somethings, and they eat a lot. Group service projects and retreats also serve as ways for young adults to connect with each other. Senior Adults MinistryMain contacts: Pastor Tom Howland These folks in the 55+ crowd like to get together for food, fellowship, and helping each other out. Watch for special events. Service TeamMain contacts: Herk Russell Tim Ralston This is a practical, “hands on” way of serving others and learning to give more than you get. Men (and women and kids) join forces to help people in need by pounding nails, roofing houses, pouring concrete… you know, building and fixing stuff … all in the name of Christ. Great way to meet other Hopesters and learn new skills.
