About the word addiction...

Don't freak out over the use of the word addiction on some of these sites listed on this page. Let's be clear here...the misuse of sex is idolatry. It is more difficult for someone who has been routinely misusing sex to stop. This is because some very real changes happen in the brain from this routine misuse. The good news is that just as repeated misuse changes the brain these changes can also be reversed.

All the sites listed here are solid sources for help if you have a problem. A few are secular, most are not. I encourage you to always check out what you see, read and hear against the ultimate authority – scripture. There may be truth outside of scripture but it will never contradict what is found in the word.

Filtering and accountability apps

bSecure has a solid porn filtering app. They operate on a monthly or yearly fee. The application installs on your PC's and filters your Internet surfing. This is NOT the filter of the olden days where a search for information on breast cancer would be automatically blocked because it contains the word breast. bSecure uses a very extensive filter list that has been hand developed and reviewed. They have created a very intelligent product that has been a help to many households over the years.

Covenant Eyes is the top accountability software today. Accountability software is different from a filter in that it allows any requested site through but records all that you browse. The software sends reports once a week to up to two different people (called accountability partners). The reports are very intelligently filtered so that problem sites are at the top of the list and sites that are definitely not an issue only show up by drilling down. Each member of your family can have their own account for a nominal additional fee so you can say on top of all family members activity. Once you have an account you may install the software on as many computers as you wish. They are now offering filtering option as well.
